Sentimental Garden
Joël Andrianomearisoa (b. 1977, Antananarivo, Madagascar) lives and works in Paris, France, and Antananarivo.
Sentimental Garden is a monument that proposes emotion as a shared language and a site of collective meaning. Developed through a participatory process inviting people to name their favorite flower, each answer is then translated into a sculptural form, with the responses assembled into a unified installation. Crafted in aluminum, the work balances fragility and permanence, forming a collective portrait shaped by sentiment, memory, and exchange.
