A Portrait of the Present is a monumental evolving collective portrait of every member of the public who wants to participate, from anywhere in the country. Generated through a process that combines drawing and machine learning, each face co-exists with the next, as part of a collective portrait of the nation. Visible day and night, the work presents national identity as something formed through participation and collective presence.
