Ângela Ferreira (b. 1958, Maputo, Mozambique) lives and works in Lisbon, Portugal.
Groot Vlermuishuis reimagines a Cape Town house designed by architect Gawie Fagan, suspending it upside down and reducing it to key elements. The inversion challenges modernism’s claim to universality, exposing its colonial circulation. Accompanied by programming with African architects, the project extends architecture beyond form, proposing it as a site of inquiry into identity, representation, and global exchange.
