Kissing and Barking
Jessica Jackson Hutchins (b. 1971, Chicago, Illinois) lives and works in Chicago.
Kissing and Barking is a monumental sculpture composed of intertwined figures that shifts as viewers move around it to reveal the convergence of multiple bodies and ambiguous forms. Based on a hand-built papier-mâché and wire model, the enlarged work would retain its soft, collage-like surfaces and irregular contours, despite being fabricated in either fiberglass or cast aluminum. Embedded urban debris, including bottles or cups, connects the sculpture to its surroundings.
