Tau Lewis (b. 1993, Toronto, Canada) lives and works in New York, New York.
Ornament of Heaven is an 18-foot sculpture of Inanna, the ancient Mesopotamian goddess of love, war, and political power. Combining materials designed to change over time, the fragmented figure references the pictorial language of ancient Mesopotamian carvings and sculptures. The work draws on Inanna’s associations with transformation, war, sexuality, and change.
