Skylines and Turnstiles

Shuang Li (b. 1990, Wuyi, China) lives and works in Berlin, Germany and Wuyi.

Skylines and Turnstiles resembles an armillary sphere, an ancient instrument used to map the cosmos. Here, its rings frame the New York skyline, transforming buildings into constellations. The work positions the city as both symbol and site of rupture, inviting reflection on how we orient ourselves within systems shaped by power, memory, and change.
