Dan Lie (b. 1988) lives and works in Berlin, Germany.
59/19/29 is a wooden structure that combines elements of a billboard, a gateway, and a shelter. It features engraved portraits of the artist’s father as an infant and later in life, with a roof and fabric panels that create a space to pause. Through a single life, the work connects personal history to larger political events, including migration, displacement, and loss.
