ABRAZOS
Daniel Otero Torres (b. 1985, Bogotá, Colombia) lives and works in Paris, France.
ABRAZOS is a bronze sculpture of intertwined human figures arranged in a spiraling vertical form. Inspired by reunions of loved ones separated by political borders and reconnected in airports and border zones across the United States, the United Kingdom, and Cyprus, the work transforms gestures of embrace into a monumental form. The project includes a collaborative performance program intended to engage migrant communities and turn the Plinth into a site of real-time encounters.
