Head Loss
Jenna Sutela (b. 1983, Turku, Finland) lives and works in Berlin, Germany.
Head Loss is a fountain built around a ruptured pipe, where water escapes through a breach rather than a controlled outlet. Referencing visible drainage systems and color-coded infrastructure, the work makes hidden water networks visible. As water circulates and spills, the fountain stages overflow as its central gesture, where pressure exceeds containment.
