The Demon and the Muse (DM)
WangShui (b. 1986, Dallas, Texas) lives and works in New York, New York, and Maryam Hoseini (b. 1988, Tehran, Iran) lives and works in New York, New York.
The Demon and the Muse (DM) is a sealed, twisting structure incorporating translucent forms and a stained-glass serpent. An undisclosed liquid circulates through its interior, moving between two intertwined figures. Controlled by a pump linked to the artists’ digital exchanges, the flow translates communication into a continuous internal rhythm within a closed system.
