CASA PS 33

The Garden Studio is a multi-week artist residency and after school program at PS 33 led by High Line teaching artist Julia Rooney in partnership with teachers and staff at PS 33. Through the course of the program, 17 2nd graders at PS 33 learn about the horticulture of the High Line, exploring the array of plant species and public art that is on view throughout the park. Students created their own artworks inspired by High Line artists, and worked collaboratively to produce their own High Line Plant encyclopedia, with each student contributing a page. The program culminated with a showcase of student artwork for families in the school’s newly re-opened school garden.
