Butterfly Migration

In January 2023, the High Line’s Director of Horticulture, Richard Hayden traveled to the UNESCO World Heritage Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve, about 100km outside of Mexico City, to lead a tour for 14 nature enthusiasts. Among the oyamel fir trees, Richard and his group met thousands of monarch butterflies that had traveled great lengths throughout North America to gather at this site.
